Dr. Yannis Paulus is a surgical retina specialist who sees patients at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center in Grand Blanc. His clinical practice focuses on the surgical and medical management of the retina and vitreous, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, macular holes, macular pucker, retinal vein occlusions, retinal artery occlusions, retinal detachments, ocular trauma, ocular inflammation, and macular and submacular surgery.

Dr. Paulus’ research interests include the development of novel retinal imaging systems and therapeutic techniques and technologies, including photoacoustic imaging, molecular imaging, laser therapies, and surgical techniques. He has co-developed a novel, inexpensive system for providing tele-ultrasound, co-founded an retinal imaging company, and investigates restorative retinal laser therapy.
